Coming soon · Free Panel for After Effects
Type your words, pick an In, a loop while it's on screen and an Out, and see it before you apply. Dozens of presets, and the small text jobs done in one click. Everything it builds is native, and real 3D follows in an update.
How it works
See every preset on your own words before it touches the layer. Then one click puts it on as native Text Animators.
Select a text layer, or type in the panel to preview on your own words.
An In, a While on loop and an Out. Split by letters, words or lines, set the order and speed.
One click. Text Animators you can open and change, one undo.
Everything inside
In, While on, Out.
Real 3D, in an update.
The small jobs, in one click.
Keep what you like.
The details
Every preset is a Text Animator with a range selector. Open it, change it, keyframe it. Projects render without TextIt.
The panel plays every preset on the text you type, with your split, order and speed, before you apply.
Set all three at once and TextIt places the Out at the end of the layer, so trimming the layer moves it.
Extrusion, per-character 3D, a camera and lights use After Effects' own 3D, so they work with the rest of your comp.
TextIt is free, like MotionKit, BlendIt, FrameSmith and PixelForge.
TextIt sits next to MotionKit, RigKit and BlendIt, and opens inside the MotionLabs Hub.
Install
TextIt is a signed extension, like the rest of MotionLabs. No Terminal, no developer tools. Same steps on macOS and Windows.
One signed .zxp file. Coming soon — join the MotionLabs Discord to hear first.
Get the free ZXP Installer from aescripts, open it and drag the .zxp onto the window.
Restart After Effects, then Window → Extensions → TextIt.
FAQ
Yes. TextIt is free.
Not yet. This page shows the prototype: the previews run the same presets and timing the panel will build.
No. It builds native Text Animators, cameras and lights, so the project opens and renders anywhere.
The first version is all about 2D text. The 3D tab, with extrusion, camera and lights, follows in an update.
Extrusion needs After Effects' Advanced 3D renderer (2023 and later). TextIt switches the comp for you. The other 3D presets work with any renderer.
After Effects 2023 and later, on macOS and Windows.
