Apply ShineIt to a text or shape layer and pick a look. It fills the letters with a gradient that moves, lights their edges, adds a glow that never clips and a touch of grain. Your font and your paths stay exactly as they are.
How it works
ShineIt goes on the layer you already have. Pick a look, then change colour, light, form and finish.
Select a text, shape or logo layer. ShineIt uses its font and paths as they are.
Choose one of 12 looks, from Deep orbit to Chrome and Holo foil.
Tune colour, light, form and finish. Everything loops on its own, so it never jumps.

The details
ShineIt works on the layer you already have, so the font, the kerning and the shape paths stay yours.
Spin, colour flow, sheen and turbulence all move in whole turns per loop, so the end meets the start.
Edge light finds the edges facing the light and lights them hardest at the corners.
Palettes blend in a perceptual colour space and are dithered, so dark gradients stay smooth.
Move the centre of the gradient, the light or the focus point straight in the comp.
ShineIt sits next to BlendIt, GlowIt and SplashIt, and opens inside the MotionLabs Hub.
Install
ShineIt is a signed extension, like the rest of MotionLabs. No Terminal, no developer tools. Same steps on macOS and Windows.
One signed .zxp file. Coming soon — join the MotionLabs Discord to hear first.
Get the free ZXP Installer from aescripts, open it and drag the .zxp onto the window.
Restart After Effects, then Window → Extensions → ShineIt.
FAQ
Not yet. This page shows a live preview of the looks and controls ShineIt will have.
No. It uses the font set on the text layer, and the paths of shape layers as they are.
BlendIt makes clean gradients for any layer. ShineIt is for hero text and logos: light, depth, glow and grain on top of the gradient.
Yes. Everything loops on its own, and you can still keyframe any setting.
